Editing Final Product
Yesterday I finished filming all the scenes that I will be including in my film. Today I am starting the post production phase. The script includes the voice over I will be recording today, and that is what will determine if I have to go back and collect any B-roll. I filmed a lot for the first part of the film in the case that I went back to edit the voiceover and make it longer, but I think that as it stands, it will end up being a good length.
To edit, I am using Adobe After Effects. Many of my peers are using CapCut or Premiere Pro but I am more familiar with After Effects, so I will stick to this program. Though it is a bit more meticulous than using Premiere Pro, I think using After Effects will help me achieve certain elements pf my film that will elevate it. Instead of recording my phone for messages, I planned to overlay text messages on the screen to make it easier for the audience to read. This can be done very easily on After Effects, though trying to balance the lighting and quality is where I may struggle. I do have a few friends that have used After Effects to create and edit films, so I will be reaching out to them to see if they have any advice.
