Reflection on creative process

One of the skills I've been able to cultivate the most in my journalism classes has been graphic design. Because of this, I think creating my logo, though practice, was a fairly easy experience. I wanted the logo to reflect me, and I think I was successful in that aspect. It's a fairly simple design, but not quite minimalistic. I like the fonts I chose especially, so I hope to be able to make a finalized design for the production company name I have chosen: "POP! Productions".  For the practice design, I drew inspiration from A24's logo. It is very simple and more minimalistic than what I hope to achieve for my logo, but the added flair of the font makes it memorable. I want POP! Productions to have the same effect.

The title card challenged me because it was created using stop motion. My favorite aspect of it was not truly stop motion, but rather the build up into it where I had models hold a piece of paper. I enjoyed this the most out of the entire 'animation' process because I was able to do it successfully. I've seen many examples of this type of film being done but I have never been able to do it successfully. I also think I could have benefited from a different film ratio, perhaps using 5:7 instead of 1:1. However, I am happy with the result as I have never done anything similar to this before.

Because it was stop motion and done by hand, I was not able to entirely fulfill the vision I had for my production company logo. I will be updating soon with the official production company logo, though I think I will stick with a more minimal design. The overall design will stay the same, but I think some details may be added to make the design feel more full and more true to my artistic vision. I think my film will be able to benefit from this as well, seeing as I can make the logo fit the overall aesthetic I aspire to accomplish in my film.
